Supermatch
Can it still be called ‘The Supermatch’

They call it “The Supermatch” as it’s regarded as the biggest derby in Asia and over the years has staged some of most talked about football games and biggest crowds in Korea as fans of both teams clamor to see their heroes get one over their bitter rivals. This weekend witnessed the first clash of Suwon Bluewings and FC Seoul of 2016 and although the attendance wasn’t exactly raising eyebrows across the land it maintained it’s status as a ‘huge match’. We had goals, questionable refereeing, ridiculous “tekkers”, a yellow card worthy of it’s own X-Files episode and for those who don’t find football quite their thing we even had some rugby thrown in for good measure. The match ended 1-1 with goals from Santos for The Bluewings and of course Adriano for Seoul. It should be noted that the official attendance was 28,109, judging by our photograph a proportion of them must have come dressed up as blue seats!!
